A 16-year-old windsurfer from Christchurch in Dorset has beaten 1,200 of the UK's best young athletes from more than 60 sports to become SportsAid's One-to-Watch Award winner at the charity's SportsBall. The award was presented by Sir Steven Redgrave at a glittering ceremony in London in front of 650 SportsAid supporters. Former recipients include Tom Daley, Jodie Williams and Hollie Arnold.

It is a remarkable fact in itself that 15-year-old Emma Wilson won windsurfing’s under-17 and under-19 world championship titles in the US in October but when you consider that she did so as one of the event’s youngest competitors, her achievement seems truly exceptional.
